What’s all the fuss about – the low-carb diet, the keto diet? Some people call it Atkins, others call it the South Beach Diet. Which of those names should you use?
That’s the million-dollar question – there are many names for a low-carb diet, but you really can’t explain it any better than the creators of the original low-carb diet did. The first low-carb diet was created by Dr. Atkins in the 70s. Atkins named the diet as such because it focuses on carbohydrates and by reducing the intake of carbohydrates the body is better able to burn fat.
I love the fact that Dr. Atkins was able to design a low-carb diet that involved healthy carbs. Too many people only focused on eating carbs and to do this they did everything but eat salads.
When we consume carbs, our bodies produce glucose, which our body uses to create ketones. Ketones, also known as ketones, are created when our body uses up its fat stores. Fat is the primary source of energy for our bodies, and the primary reason that eating carbs can be dangerous.
If we consume carbs with the right amounts of protein, our bodies have the resources to burn fat and burn off our stored fat. There are two types of carbs – the first type of carbs are complex carbs and the second type of carbs are simple carbs.
People who want to diet should aim to reduce their intake of simple carbs to high levels. Foods that are high in simple carbohydrates include refined sugar, white flour products, fruit, pastas, and potatoes.
If you eliminate simple carbs from your diet, it will become necessary to include high amounts of complex carbs. Complex carbs are much healthier than simple carbs. Why?
Because complex carbs can help our bodies utilize fat for energy, and they can also help us lose weight. The good news is that our bodies can convert simple carbs into complex carbs when we get hungry. As we continue to consume simple carbs, we will continue to turn them into complex carbs.
This means that our bodies will need to consume more complex carbs in order to get the energy that they need to function properly. Just remember, when you lower your carb intake the body has to begin producing ketones in order to process the carbs. Ketones are fat!

As we’ve discussed before, the body can use both protein and carbs to create ketones, but the ketones are created when carbs are consumed in large quantities. That’s why it’s crucial to start eating more complex carbs as soon as possible in order to burn fat.
