Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease that results in airway inflammation, airway collapse and obstructions, and temporary cessation of breathing. This is a condition that can be successfully treated using appropriate medicines and therapies. A wide range of medications are available for asthma and usually, doctors prescribe steroids to control the disease.

In case studies carried out in the United States, there has been a sharp rise in the number of people who are affected by asthma. It is believed that this is because of the increasing air pollution and the increase in its sulfur dioxide content. The symptoms can be varied, with some patients suffering from severe chest and throat congestion, wheezing, shortness of breath, headaches, and coughing. This can make them feel helpless and as if they are unable to breathe at all.

With the conditions of some patients increasing with age, this is a serious health concern. The disease has several causes, one of which is the overuse of steroid-based drugs.

There are various types of asthma, including “allergy asthma”. This is a type of asthma that occurs due to a reaction between chemicals in the environment and the food that a person consumes. Most commonly, this is caused by the consumption of nuts, eggs, milk, wheat, soy products, and other foodstuff.

There are different types of asthma. Those who suffer from it are called “hidden asthma”. Their disease is not generally recognized by the public because the disease does not produce any symptoms at first. The disease is also very hard to diagnose because it causes some patients to produce minimal symptoms.

The treatments work on the basis of the various causes. Steroids and prednisone are used to control the symptoms of asthma. They lower the immune system, improve the function of the lungs, and reduce airway inflammation. However, the side effects of this treatment are uncomfortable and may have long term effects.

Doctors often recommend the use of asthma inhalers for asthma patients, so that they can inhale oxygen without the risk of inhaling a lot of nitrogen. These inhalers cause the patient to inhale oxygen and not nitrogen.

But recently, the discovery of asthma triggers, especially among children, has led to the development of anti-allergy medications that trigger asthma attacks without the use of steroids. This means that asthma medication does not have to be taken on a regular basis but can be done only during an attack.

Anaphylaxis, or anaphylactic shock, occurs when the allergy-causing food or substance is consumed suddenly and the body responds by creating an anaphylactic reaction. If you take the medication on a regular basis, you will have no more problems because your body will not have the chance to react and develop an anaphylactic reaction. The chances of developing an anaphylactic reaction are lower if the patient takes the medication regularly.

It has been found that in most cases, asthma is caused by allergy and the role of drugs is only necessary to treat the symptoms rather than to prevent allergic asthma. Therefore, doctors do not recommend the use of drugs to control the disease.

Nowadays, there are more doctors and asthma patients who are suggesting avoidance of food and drinks that can trigger asthma. Some patients even go on a vegetarian diet and live on only foods that contain a low level of protein.
